On Hu Shih's Method Of Experimentalism And Achievements

Hu Shih has made remarkable achievements in the literary theory ,philosophy, history ;poetry ,etc. There are more than thirty books about Hu Shih's, and more than twenty papers research on Hu Shih's methodology of Pragmatism . And the relative studies on Hu Shi get increasingly wide attention by scholars ,so it became a" school of learning."Many people become focusing on multi-angle multi-lateral research, Among them, the research on Hu Shi and Dewey are mostly from the comparison of the impact of experimentalism, methodological aspects of evaluation research, and academic experimentalism on Hu's expression, the use of other aspects of the research is relatively small. More scholars just put the research under the framework of Hu Shih's study, HuShi's methodology of pragmatism is only a small number of branch parts. So, in this paper, I will learn the strengths of Hu Shi's experiments research. I will find Hu Shih's formation of the methodology ,and the used in his research; the impact etc. To do this, I hope I can give a right assessment on Hu Shih's research method of experimentalism.Today, Hu Shih's research method of experimentalism can make an example for young scholars. The first part of the thesis mainly comb the forming process of experimentalism research method which was standed by HuShi , and demonstrate that the unique method was forming after HuShi court the strongpoint both from Chinese and Western research method.The second part is mainly see from the angle of HuShi's academic activities ,which are very representative, such as literature revolutionary activities, composing THE HISTORY OF CHINESE PHILOSOPHY, national past, advocating biography historiography, have a further discussing about the experimentalism research method of HuShi, which has embody and achievements of academic. Thus we can grasp the soul of experimentalism research method. On that basis, summary the characteristics of experimentalism research method, skeptical spirit, experimental method, historical attitude and practical purpose composed the research method of HuShi, after grasp the experimentalism research method, from two aspects to evaluate experimentalism research method of HuShi. The last part of the article discusses HuShi's experiment of scholarly research method of contemporary value values: On one hand, absorbed the academic textology study method of Qing Dynasty laid solid foundation for history studying; on the other hand, offer insightful view for historical research, introduced the modern new historiography views on history data, and makes the new historians began to study history based on broad historical background, promote the transformation of Chinese history research methodology. HuShi's research method advocates the spirit of dare to doubt, pay attention to evidence, advocating experiment, have certain reference significance for the healthy development of Chinese academic circles.
