A Study On Occupation Career Planning Education Comparing High School Students And Vocational School Students

Both the general education of high school and vocational education are the foundation of the higher education, but they have been artificially separated by the traditional education system, that bring a lot of obstacles to students’ career choices.in this study, we investigated 296 high school students and 287 vocational school students sampled by random in shanghai. Methods adopting a self-designed questionnaire about occupation career planning education and effectiveness to compare that of high school and vocational school students, the results show that:1)The trend in the choice of career planning have no significant difference between the two types of students. They all give priority to see kind higher education;2)Concerning career cognition,vocational school students is higher than that of high school students;3)High school students are more willing to get knowledge of career planning through courses, lectures and so on, while vocational schools students have more willing to get the knowledge through experience, practice or any way like that;4)We find a positive relationship between the students’ cognitive level and the school career education, School career education and students’ satisfaction to career education have a positive relationship too.
