In modern times, advanced Chinese intellectuals apply Marxism to deal with the crisis of ruination of China, and finally achieve success. In this process, the problem which Chinese intellectuals face is how to apply Marxism to specific reality of China, namely, localization of Marxism in China. Professor Feng Qi eventually builds a philosophical system of localization of Marxism in China to answer this question, according to his investigation of eastern and western history of philosophy and the basic position of Marxism. How do Professor Feng Qi establish the philosophical system of Marxism with Chinese style? What inspiration is his enterprise for our development of localization of Marxism in China? In this issue, I try to offer these questions a preliminary answer by analyzing Professor Feng Qi's research and application of Wang Yangming's and Huang Zongxi's theory of Effort. In Feng Qi's view, Wang Yangming's thought can be unified by the extention of innate knowledge. Wang Yangming counts the innate knowledge as noumenon, the extention of innate knowledge as Effort, and consider that the noumenon within Effort unfolds as process. Feng Qi thinks that the most prominent contribution of Wang Yangming is his theory of Effort in which Truth is process, and noumenon and Effort are unified as a whole, because it means ontology and theory of wisdom are unified as a whole. Huang Zongxi further regards that mind is not noumenon, only intends noumenon in process of Effort. Simultaneously, in accordance with this viewpoint, he raises a suit of historicist methodology. Reasonable components in Hang Zhongxi's thought are viewed as the annex of historicism of materialistic dialectics in contemporary academic debate. On the other hand, both Wang Yangming and Huang Zhongxi insist that the culture of ideal personality is process of development.Through investigation of Wang Yangming's and Huang Zongxi's theory of Effort, Feng Qi is aware that knowing need be viewed as process, and we must insist the methodology whose characteristic is that logical methods and historical methods are unified as a whole. Based on this methodology Feng Qi summarizes four principles of investigation of history of philosophy, and uses these principles to the research of Chinese ancient philosophy including Wang Yangming's Philosophy. Secondly, Feng Qi closely grasps the principle of unity of noumenon and Effort to apply to his construction of philosophy.
