The Impact Of Proactive Personality And Time Limit On Career Decision-Making Process Of College Students

Career decision-making is one of the most important decisions in our life. Although a lot of psychologists emphasize career decision-making is a completely rational process, the impact of proactive personality as a most important predictor of personality, on career decision-making should be paid great attention to. A lot of past researches indicate that proactive personality plays a positive role in career development. However, there were few studies that discuss the impact of proactive personality in career decision-making process. So it is essential and pioneering to study this problem.There are three parts in this paper. In the first part we reviewed the researches about career decision-making and proactive personality that indicate career decision-making is a relatively rational process that can be influenced by proactive personality.In the second part has one specific study. We explore the impact of proactive personality on career decision-making. The result shows:1) Career decision-making is a relatively rational process. Time has noticeable effect on the number of click, machining time and the decision variables.2) The influence of proactive personality on average time of decision-making is very significant.In the last part, we point out the applied meaning and deficiencies of whole study. Then the directions in future study are put forward.
