Relationship Between Proactive Personality, Career Decision-making Self-efficacy, And Achievement Motivation Among Vocational School Students: Research Findings And Educational Implications

With the continuous development of society,the recognition of secondary vocational education is getting higher and higher.The establishment of secondary vocational schools aims to cultivate high-quality talents in specific industries,train them to master relevant knowledge,and become an important force in promoting national development and realizing national take-off.Therefore,secondary vocational education undertakes important tasks such as alleviating the contradiction between supply and demand of labor force,stabilizing employment,promoting the development of people’s livelihood and stable economic growth in society.However,the current secondary vocational education still faces many problems,and it is necessary for all sectors of society to work together to improve the predicament of secondary vocational education,promote its development,and make it play a greater role.The whole society expects to improve the level of vocational education,and secondary vocational schools aiming at providing talents are no exception.Therefore,in-depth exploration of vocational students’ sense of career efficacy and analysis of various factors that affect their choices can significantly improve vocational students’ career choice behavior,thereby improving the employment status of secondary vocational students.This paper takes the students in secondary vocational colleges in Changchun City,Jilin Province as the research object,conducts a sample questionnaire survey,and studies the relationship among the proactive personality,achievement motivation and career efficacy of secondary vocational students.Using SPSS25.0 and Amos22.0software to conduct descriptive statistical analysis,correlation analysis,regression analysis on the recovered data,and conduct mediation effect analysis on achievement motivation,the following conclusions are obtained:(1)The descriptive statistical analysis shows that: firstly,the proactive personality of secondary vocational students is at the upper middle level;the level of proactive personality continues to increase with the growth of grades;the proactive personality level of boys is higher than that of girls;the non-only child Females tend to be more active personality than only children.Second,secondary vocational students are more motivated to pursue success;third-grade students pursue success more than first-and second-grade students,and second-grade students want to avoid failure more than third-grade students;science students are more motivated to pursue success,and arts and science students There was no significant difference in motivation to avoid failure.Finally,secondary vocational students have a better sense of career efficacy,and there are large differences among individuals;boys have higher information gathering ability than girls,and are better at solving problems;students in higher grades have stronger goal selection than students in lower grades.,the ability to make plans and solve problems;science students have a higher target screening ability than liberal arts students.(2)Correlation analysis and regression analysis show that: firstly,there is a significant correlation between the proactive personality and career self-efficacy of secondary vocational students,and the five dimensions of reputation,health care factors,self-development and career self-efficacy and the overall career self-efficacy are significantly positive.Correlation;self-development factors and career efficacy and its dimensions are more significantly correlated.Secondly,there is a significant correlation between achievement motivation and career efficacy among secondary vocational students,the pursuit of success is significantly positively correlated with the five dimensions of career efficacy and overall career efficacy;avoiding failure is not significantly correlated with career efficacy;achievement motivation and career efficacy Sense and its five dimensions are positively correlated.Finally,there is a significant correlation between the positive personality and achievement motivation of secondary vocational students,the health care factor is positively correlated with the pursuit of success and avoiding failure;the self-development factor is positively correlated with the dimension of success seeking and the dimension of overall achievement motivation.(3)Mesomeric effect analysis of achievement motivation shows that achievement motivation of secondary vocational school students has a significant mediating effect between active personality and career choice efficacy.Proactive personality can directly predict career efficacy,and some factors such as self development of proactive personality have a certain impact on career efficacy through achievement motivation as a mediator.Based on the data analysis results,targeted strategies have been proposed to enhance the employment prospects of vocational school students.Firstly,efforts should be made to enhance students’ proactive personality,achievement motivation,self-efficacy,and cultivate employment awareness,thereby strengthening the core of their employment mindset and enhancing their employ-ability.Secondly,it is important to improve employ-ability skills and prevent employment discrimination.Thirdly,differentiated guidance should be provided to vocational school students based on their gender,grade,and major.Fourthly,collaboration between parents and schools should be encouraged to help students integrate employment resources.Finally,there is a need to improve relevant laws,regulations,and social security systems pertaining to employment.
