The Research On The Magazine Spring And Autumn Of Literature (1944-1949)

Spring and Autumn of Literature was published in October,1944, with the efforts of Editor Fan Quan it became one of the most famous literary journal which last for the most longest duration in publication in the late 1940s in Kuomintang-dominated areas. Because of the distinctive attitudes, elegant literary grade, innovative typesetting and design, it became the favorite of readers, thus brought in a very broad impact. But this magazine did not have the domestic academic attention in a long time and it was gradually being recognized until the latter half of the 80s, however as so far, monographs and system researches that base on it have not yet appeared.This paper is a text analysis on Spring and Autumn of Literature, using qualitative research and literature analysis methods, through the analysis of the theory and the text, we are looking for the values and editing features of Spring and Autumn of Literature from the perspective of communication and editing. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is a brief introduction which includes the found background, the development process, and the external environment that it faced. The second chapter shows three distinctive value orientations of publication by analyzing the content. In the third chapter, we analyze the editorial art of editor Fan Quan, find the reasons of the success of this publication are its unique editing features, compatible and inclusive manners, the way treat authors and readers as sincere friends and the unique typesetting design. Finally, the conclusion part finds the reason why the publication was not taken seriously although it had great impact, and we can get some inspiration of publication edit in China from its success.
