The Tibetan Of Hexi And Longyou Regions During The Latter Tang And Five Dynasties

The latter Tibetan dynasty, due to the civil commotion taken place in the Tibetan, the battle royal occurred among the Hexi and Longyou Regions general, as a result, tremendous changes in the Hexi and Longyou areas began. With the growing up of Guiyijun, the Tibetan attracted less and less attention, which gave us an illusion that the Tibetans disappeared in the Hexi Region. In fact, the great effects of Tibet couldn't be eliminated, and the Tibetan still played an important role in the Hexi and Longyou Regions from the Latter Tang to Five Dynasties.This paper about the Tibetan of the latter Tang and Five Dynasties can be summarized as follows:the battle royal among the Tibetan general was the beginning of the changing of the Longyou Region. However, after the battle royal, the Tibetan didn't quit this region; The contemporaneous Tibetan of Hexi Region was defeated by the Zhang Yichao, but they didn't vanish completely. They distributed in the Shazhou, Liangzhou and other places; During the Five Dynasties period, there were few recordation about this region, but we can conclude from fewer materials that the Tibetan tribes existed in this region abroad; In the Five Dynasties, the Tibetan tribes distributed in Hexi Region more abroad, and the more attractive phenomenon is the appearance of Tibetan regime in Hexi region, which indicated that the Tibetan became an independent political muscle again. Moreover the Tibetan trubes in the Hexi and Longyou Regions frequently connected with the Five Dynasties in the Central Plains and scrabbled for Liangzhou, which indicated that the Tibetan came alive gradually; In addition, after the end of Tibetan domination over Hexi and Longyou Regions, the Old Tibetan being the Hexi Region diplomacy language is an important indication of Tibetan persistent effect.Based on the predecessors'studies, this paper tries to combine the traditional historical materials with Dunhuang Documents in order to study the Tibetan tribes of the Latter Tang and the Five Dynasties in Hexi and Longyou areas, with the purpose to reveal the process that the Tibetan was gradually from downfall to prosper during the period from the latter Tang to the Five Dynasties.
