Word order is one of important grammatical means in modern chinese and also is one of difficulties in TCSL (Teaching Chinese as a Second Language). In the process of chinese language teaching, brazilian students are usually found make word order errors. Based on investigation of large number of homework and test papers, this paper makes classification statistics on the word order errors made by brazilian students in chinese learning employing inter-language theory and method of error analysis, and through analyzing the causes of each kind of errors proposes methods to avert these errors, in the hope of giving some help to those brazilian students that are learning chinese. This paper can be divided into five chapters.Chapter one is the preface. We introduce the significance and importance of this research, and then put a brief review of those researches on this subject by both domestic and alien scholars, and at last explain the theories and methods employed, as well as the clues and objective of this research.Chapter two is the classification of word order errors made by brazilian students. In this Chapter we collect sentences with word order error through investigation and classify these errors according to (syntactic) form, semantic and pragmatic. They are subject-predicate order error, attributive order error, adverbial order error, and complement order error.Chapter three is the analysis of the main causes of the errors. Firstly we introduce the difference between chinese and portuguese. In portuguese grammatical categories are expressed by inflection, while chinese sentences are formed depends on word order. These two languages also differ widely in other aspects, such as verbal morphology and sentence structures. Then we analyze the leading cause of word order error made by brazilian students from four aspects:inter-language negative transfer, intralingua transfer, learning strategy, and learning environment. Since inter-language negative transfer is the leading cause of the word order error, a detailed discussion is made in this chapter. Chapter four give some advices in hope of correcting the errors made by brazilian students. These advices are given for three aspects:(1) For the learner, it is necessary For brazilian students to ask more questions, take more exercises, as well as overcome the obstacles in psychology, cognition and emotion; (2) For the teacher, chinese teachers need to combine discovery method and antithesis, stress on contrast teaching, and distribute the difficulties appropriately; (3) For learning environment, it is crucial to train excellent chinese teachers that have a good command of portuguese, and to compile quality textbook aiming at brazilian students.Chapter five is the conclusion of this paper, which brings out the main results.
