Lukacs obtains rich spiritual sustenance from the profound realism literary ideas accumulated from the western critical theories. He inherits from Marx and Engels' Realism Literary theory, and enriches and develops the realism theory of literature and art, which constructs his systematic realism theory of literature and art.Based on his famous Totality philosophy, humanism is his starting point and end-result. This is of rich connotations:"anthropomorphic reflect", "generalized individuality", shapes the typical image, and "completely expresses the personality". He bands the realism and humanitarianism together.Lukacs'Realism Literary theory establishes the aesthetic characteristics of literature and art future, which is also of important influence to later Frankfort School, such as Goldman, Adorno, Marcuse and so on, pointing out the right direction for them.Realism should not just be a kind of literary genre, nor a literary style, nor a literary ideological trend, but be a literary spirit, as is of eternal magic power. Under the multiform of culture, in the seek of novelty, people need art works resonating in the reality, but not merely remaining in reality, which is to get to the presentation of beauty, the aesthetic feeling of poetry and the inspiration of thoughts in the process of refining the theme.
