The symphonic poem Fengxue Wangli Jiaguo is composed according to a Mongolian historical story Dong Gui Zhuan. This story tells about how Mongolian hero Wobaxi, leading his followers who could not bear the oppression of the Czar, came back to China after breaking through various hardship. The composer centers around the Wobaxisong, vividly revealing how Wobaxi and his followers separated from the Russian rule. The composer combines the spectacular Mongolian music and western orchestral music, which shows great national characteristics.This paper takes the abovementioned as the research subject. It consists of the following parts:Introduction tells about the meaning, purpose and research methods of the music.The first chapter is the brief introduction of Du Zhaozhi. The art life and the his feelings towards Mongolian people will be shown in this chapter. In addition, his musical works and academic achievements will be indicated.Chapter two is divided into three parts. The first is the theme and layout of the symphonic poem Fengxue Wangli Jiaguo. The second part is the structure of the music. And the third part is the analysis of the harmony, polyphony and orchestrate.Chapter three is the conclusion of the paper. The author sums up the distinguishing features of the music based on the research analysis of the this symphonic poem, which will brings positive effect on carrying on and transmitting the national culture by applying the national music to rich the culture of the homophonic.
