Although the study about the evolution of common words takes avery important role in the study of vocabulary history, it has not gainedenough attention from academia because of insufficient recognition andrestriction of objective conditions. To my delighted, since the late 20thcentury, a lot of scholars started to appreciate the evolution of commonwords and decided to make research on it under the elder scholars'calland personal practice, so that the situation of study about evolution ofcommon words began to improve partly. However, this study is a greatproject and has lots of work to do. So we choose five groups of commonwords from Noun, Verbs and Adjectives to take as research object, anddepict detailedly their evolutive course according to the combiningmethod of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis in order to probeinto the rules of common words'evolution.The introduction part shows the definition of common words, thehistory of study on common words'evolution and research corpus andresearch methods as well.Case studies choose two groups of Noun(Zhi/Shuï¼›Guan/Mao), twogroups of Verbs(Zhu/Zhuiï¼›Qi,Ti,Hao/Ku) and one group ofAdjectives(Wei/Jia) as the research object, and depict detailedly theirevolutive course, and sum up the evolutive course at the end of eachsection from the third chapter to the fourth chapter.The last part comes to general conclusion about the feelings andexperiences from the research process, looking forward to helping toexplain some problems on the study about the evolution of commonwords.
