Er Pai is the abbreviation of Chu Ke Pai An Jing Qi and Er Ke Pai An Jing Qi.Itis one of the masterpiece of Script-like novels writen by Ling Mengchu,printed inMing Dynasty.Theversion,photocopied by Ming Dynasty Shangyoutang block-printededition,and included in Complete Library in Four Divisions is the best one to reflectthe language and characters’ looks in late Ming.Collected along with analyzed forCommon Characters and Words in Er Pai helps to understand languags’ rheological,aswell as can be beneficial to spread of Er Pai.This article will use some reserchmethod,such as Comparison of Symmetric-Texts,Induction Analogy,Evidence byWordbooks about Common Characters;Seek Origins of Words,Prove with Dialectabout Common Words;and also will draw support from electronic means such asDigital Search Software and Related Web Sites.On the basic of induction andanalysis about achievement before,this paper collate and stipulate the concept ofCommon Characters and Words,then screen and sum up material.According to thecause of Common Characters,the thesis classify them into ten categories:AddIdeogragh Class,Chang Ideogragh Class,Chang Phonetic Sign Class,Parts DystogyClass,Simplified Class,Complex Class,Writing Variation Class,Different Shap UsingClass,Whole Created Class, divide subclasses and generalization in each ofthem.After that,the paper emphatically replenish the character patterns and literalmeanings without including by Grand Chinese Dictionary,and textual researchunknown characters.The part of “Common Words Research” will explain the wordsand senses uncollected by The Great Chinese Dictionary.
