Jurgen·Habermas is The main representative of the second generation in the Frankfurt School . He accepted Marx·Weber's rationalization theory , Lukacs Reification and the Early Frankfurt School of social criticism.Based on the theories,combined with extensive writings and active social practice,it eventually formed his"Theory of Communicative Action"Construction .As his thinking was numerous and profound and his system is great sound,Habermas is recognized as"the most influential contemporary thinkers"."The Structural Transformation of the public sphere"was the first work of the"communicative action theory".Habermas made an important theoretical sphere on the history of the several public sphere comparison——"bourgeois public sphere".Then he analysised the happen and development and social structure and political functions of the"bourgeois public sphere",and showed the specific image of the concept of the public domain to us.This ideal image of the bourgeois public sphere in the country and society in the developed tension, which itself has been an integral part of the private sector,and has been an integral part of the private sector itself.Therefore,the separation of state and society is its precondition for the existence and development.But to late capitalism,state intervention in the social field with the public authority to private organizations(and the transfer of the state of society and the state of the parallel society),the foundation of the bourgeois public sphere was destroyed.It made the transformation of the"bourgeois public sphere"from the social structure to the political function.Nevertheless,Habermas still hopes to rebuild the bourgeois public sphere on rebuilding the publicity of the criticism and re-interpretation of public opinion."The Structural Transformation of the public sphere"have great theoretical achievements.First,he was the first man which get concept of the public sphere after Kant, Aristotle, Hegel and Marx and Arendt ,and get the cultural point of view into it.Second,the theory in the book had diversity and openness.Finally,in the book he has always stressed the democratic discourse,which inject a new element for research of the community.However ,not it was the idealistic and utopian theories,but the concept of the bourgeois public sphere had fuzziness and ambiguity,which despite a new nvision for future research.But it do not adapt to diversity.In short,"The Structural Transformation of the public sphere"was a good book ,its the greatest contribution was not some kind of authority,but to inspire and guide a large number of scholars in the field of public concern and in-depth analysis.
