The Study On The Bun Bang Fai Rocket Festival Cultures Of Dai, Tai And Lao Nations

As the continuing development of internationalization, the relationships between China and Thailand and Laos are intimate. In recent years, the China-ASEAN Expos had been successfully held in Nanning city for seven times. It makes the peoples living in China and Thailand and Laos understanding each other further, and co-operating in more and more unprecedented aspects. Therefore, we need to strengthen learning the ethnic cultures of Dai living in Yunnan province in China, Tai in the southeast of Thailand and Lao in Laos. Dai living in Yunnan province of China, Tai in the southeast of Thailand and Lao living in Laos have the same customs which is"Bun Bang Fai"rocket festival with reproductive worship. These ethnic groups'purposes are to pray for rain from god. In order to have enough water to plough, to gain harvest villagers must hold the ceremony to pray for rain and beg the god to bless them.The paper is divided into four chapters: Chapter one gives a brief introduction about Dai, Thai and Lao nationality who have the same custom-set off the Bun Bang Fai Rockets, and reviews the this custom's history, explains the situation of resent research, researching thought, method and the significance of this study. Chapter two analyzes the origination of Bun Bang Fai Rocket Festival of Dai, Tai and Lao nations, mainly expounding some aspects, including the homology relationship, common faith and the found of language under the angle of view of relationships of Dai, Tai and Lao nations. Chapter three mainly expounds the characters, beliefs and tales of Bun Bang Fai Rocket Festival of Dai, Tai and Lao nations, tracing the origination of Bun Bang Fai Rocket Festival. Chapter four focuses on the differences of the custom in Dai, Thai and Lao nationality, explore the reason, expounds the social influence, and gives some suggestions to protect it.
