Since reform and opening policy was adopted,a tide of peasants to go to cities sweeps the whole China. With the rapidly development of the tide, More and more tragedy stories with"migrant workers"theme have come into being. In the series of novels ,the labors'survival environment,mental status,anxiety of modernity etc have been described in different extent. Farmers moving to urban encounter strange people,different environment and completely different urban culture. They not only face with social transformation, and also are confronted with a problem of identity reconstruction in themselves. The complicated phenomena have been displayed fully in these novels. Based on such states,the thesis tries to study the labors'attitude and emotional orientation in the view of identity construction in the migrant labors novels since 1990s.This thesis consists of three chapters,apart from the introduction and conclusion .Chapter one briefly talks about the edge situation of enter-city farmers. They often have been in"suspended"trouble since they migrated to cities from villages. In cities, they are"intruders"; however, they become"guests"in their own hometown too. Whether in residential space,living circumstances and cultural status, they have become"marginal men".Chapter two mainly explores these workers'identity construction and survival attitude."Migrant workers"which is a special appellation shows that they are both original"farmers"and"workers"in the cities. At the same time, it shows that they are"farmers"being far away from land, also are"workers"who are different from urban workers. The embarrassing situation and identity cause crises of a sense of belonging and identity recognition. So In order to eliminate this kind of embarrassing and get stability , they want to construct new identities .However, they are often in the state of anxiety and loss in pursuit of new identities, because of the limitation of the inherent identities and habits and reject of Modern cities.Chapter three mainly talks about the cross of finding the spiritual homeland. These migrant workers eventually find the"Spiritual Garden of Eden"in the heterogeneous space which is constructed by time inversion——recall,and rural things misallocation——moving-object after having experienced the bitterness of purgatory in the cities and hometown. Their wandering souls can be settled and they can escape Urbanization in the"Eden".
