A Study On C.T.Wang's Social Welfare Activitives

C.T.Wang is the well-known politician, diplomat, and social activist during the Republic of China Period. In the past, historians mainly focused on C.T.Wang's political and diplomatic fields. When extended the research field, we found that apart from politics, he participated in extensive social welfare activities and have achieved remarkable achievements in sports, road construction, culture and education, charity and many other fields. Through researching on C.T.Wang's social welfare activities, can not only enrich the contents of the Republic of character study, but also be beneficial for understanding the characteristics of public welfare in transition period.Addition to the introduction and conclusion, this paper is divided into four chapters.Chapter One: The background of C.T.Wang engaged in social welfare activities. In this part, we analyzed the background from the perspective of special environment, geographical factors, the unique perspective of personal experience.Chapter Two: The main content of C.T.Wang's social welfare activities. In this part, we intorduced C.T.Wang's social welfare activities in sports, road construction campaign, culture and education, charity activities etc. He engaged in public welfare activities is from the perspective of human and social development. His activities have been beyonded the traditional Chinese aid range of vulnerable groups, with the characteristics of modern public welfare activities.Chapter Three: The philosophy and operations of C.T.Wang's social welfare activities. His social welfare activities reflects the "people-oriented", "statecraft" concept. In the process of implementation, C.T.Wang adopted the following strategies, such as reliancing on kinds of nongovernmental organization, active advocacy, trying to raise funds that proceed from the whole, focusing on the coordination between activities.Chapter Four: The reason of C.T.Wang's remarkable achievements in social welfare activities. C.T.Wang can consciously learn and use the western ideology and operational modes of public welfare, and made remarkable achievements. This is facilitated by a variety of factors, including the era of the Republic of specific opportunities provided by the environment, double impact of Eastern and Western cultures for him, his political status and extensive relationships and other factors.
