By means of research on literature and rural survey, the author investigates the spread of Bailianjiao Uprising in the oral literature of Wudang Mountain, understands the spread and development of such literature, and points out the urgency and importance to save and protect it.This paper consists of four part. In the first part, the author does a research on the first part, the author does a research on the historical origins of Bailianjiao. And from the relevant historical records and local chronicles, the author knows the activities of the Xiangyang Bailianjiao Insurrectionary Army around Wudang Mountain from the first year to the ninth year of the reign of Jiaqin Emperor (1796-1804). The second part is a findings report about the spread of Bailianjiao in the oral literature of Wudang Mountain. The author illustrates how the folk stories and songs in Wudang spread the history of Bailianjiao. The conclusion is reached according to the investigation of three places: the story village in Wujiagou, liuliping Town, Danjiangkou city; the folk song Village in lujiahe, Guanshan Town and the place of Wang Cong' er' s death in Huaishu Town, Yunxi County in the third part, the author discusses the faithful representation and the literary creation of the Bailianjiao history in the oral literature of Wudang Mountain, comparative analysis between the historical records and rural survey, it becomes easy to distinguish faithful representation andliterary creation. In the fourth part, the paper discusses the spread, development and protection of the oral literature of Wudang Mountain. 1. The channel of spread. The oral literature spreads through both society and families. The former one includes customs, festivals, literature and craftsmen. The latter concerns the paternal, the maternal and the relationship by marriage. 2. Some thoughts. With the development of current situation and great changes of social circumstances, oral literature of Wudang Mountain is facing the danger of disappearance, therefore, it is rather urgent to save and protect it. 3. The corresponding measures. Many measures can be taken to save and protect it. For example, to make a complete exploration, collect the relevant materials, record the activities about folklore, reserve the objects correlated with this, and hold some folk performances. Then, the popularity of oral literature of Wudang Mountain can become greater and more tourists will be attracted and serve for the development of local economy.
