Study On Resource Management Of The World Heritage Site In Wudang Mountain

World Heritage is the common wealth of mankind, which provides extremely preciousresources for the development of tourism industry. The attraction to the tourists of WorldHeritage site is without equal. Wudang mountain is a famous Taoist shrine in China. Thelarge scale of Ancient Building Complex in the Wudang Mountains was included on theWorld Heritage List as a cultural heritage in1994, and Wudang Mountain was declared as anational geopark in2009. There are abundant tourism resources in Wudang mountain, bothnatural and cultural, which have extremely high cultural value and ornamental value.National and local governments have taken many actions in recent years, which arevery important for the protection, management and utilization of Wudang mountain. But weshould also realize that there are still many problems in the resource management ofWudang mountain, these problems directly or indirectly fetter sustainable development ofheritage recourse. The thesis takes the Wudang Mountains heritage as the research object,with the aim of achieving better resource management of this site. In order to promote thesustainable development of the site, some suggestions are proposed on the basis ofcomprehensive analysis and research of Wudang mountain, which are not only conducive tothe cultural relics protection and utilization, but also beneficial to the harmoniousdevelopment of regional society and economy.Structure of this thesis can be divided into five parts besides of the introduction andconclusion.First, the thesis introduces related concepts and theoretical basis to provide theoreticalfoundation for the research of Wudang mountain.Second, using the method of system analysis, this thesis fully reviews the heritageresource management in respects of the natural environment, social economy, the conditionof heritage preservation and present situation of tourism, and the basic object and boundaryof resource management are established.Third, this thesis uses the method of hierarchal analysis as a quantitative analysis of the value of heritage resources and affirms that Wudang mountain has tremendous value ofprotection and development, and provides more reliable grounds for heritage resourcemanagement.Fourth, using the SWOT analysis method, the thesis makes an overall analysis of thestrengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the situation of heritage protection anddevelopment, then points out direction for Wudang mountain heritage resourcemanagement.Fifth, on the basis of comprehensive analysis, concrete suggestions are proposed forthe resource management of Wudang mountain. We expect that management office ofWudang mountain work strictly in accordance with the World Heritage site managementobjectives, persist in taking economic benefits as the center, social benefits as the purpose,environmental benefits as the basis, achieve the combination of the three, finally fulfill thesustainable development of the wudang mountain heritage resources.The case study of heritage management mode can provide references fordecision-makers. Moreover, it can be a successful example for other heritage strategicmanagement.
