The Error of the Multiple Sentence (EMS) in Chinese appears here and there in the foreign students' language data. The EMS is studied systematically in the paper, in search of some suggestion to the Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL). The qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis are combined together in the paper.On the one hand, according to objective and complete description of the EMS, the writer induces the four types in the EMS (Correlative Error, MS Error, multi-MS Error, and Punctuation Mark Error in MS) and explores the traits and the sources of the errors from the 35"000-word Chinese data. On the other hand, the writer investigates the usage of correlative and Punctuation Mark in the MS, and the usage and judgment for the multi-MS by questionnaire. By the statistics and analysis of the investigating data, some regulations are got in the processes of foreign students Chinese language acquisition of MS. The questionnaire results reveal the ratio of the four types (Correlative, MS, multi-MS, and Punctuation Mark in MS) in MS respectively for 66%, 34%s, 17%, 25%. The MS acquisition ability of foreign students increases along with the go upping of student grade but, but each study stage all contain own characteristics.At last, some suggestions are given in the Chinese MS Teaching.
