"V zai-le N" structure (eg: Fang zai-le zhuozi shang) is a new and developing grammatical pattern in modern Chinese. The paper tries to carry on an overall study of the structure and function of "V zai-le N" pattern by means of contrast, transformation, cognition etc , and probe into motivation of grammaticalization of "V zai-le N" structure. In introduction part, the paper reviews the latest academic achievements. The first chapter analyzes the elements of V and N in the structure of "V zai-le N" through examining the verbs in Dictionary of Verb Usage one by one, and classifies the verbs that are accessible in the structure into four types. The second chapter explores the semantic meaning of "V zai-le N" structure, regarding "V zai-le N" structure as a unit and meanwhile, makes a contrast between "V zai-le N" structure and other structures such as "zaiN V", "V zaiN", "VN" etc. The third chapter deals with the pragmatic value of the structure. The fourth chapter stresses on the formation of "V zai-le N" structure from synchronical and diachronical perspectives respectively; besides, the preliminary exploration of the frequency of the structure is carried on.
