On Ethical Restriction On Economic Man

This article mainly expounds why ethical restriction is essential to economic man and how to restrict economic man in moral way. The whole article can be divided into three parts.In the first part,it simply review the history of the connotation of economic man, and states there is an ethical difficult problem in the theory of "economic man", i. e. how can the economic man's selfish action benefit others and the whole community. Which can not be solved in the theory of "economic man", so it is necessary to restrict economic man in a moral way.The second part includes the second, the third and the forth chapter. The second chapter discusses the theoretic basis of the ethical restriction on economic man, and its necessity and feasiblity.The third chapter expounds a few of ethical principles to restrict the economic man's action, i.e. asserting the selfishness and self -independence of economic man, and justice of marketplace. Additionally, respective human being must abide by: equality and honesty.The forth chapter discusses how to achieve those ethical principles, that is,mechanism to restrict the economic man's action:social moral evaluation, human being's moral appraising of himself.The third part is the fifth chapter. By taking advantage of a real example:the behavior of the main body of principal-agent relationship(typical behavior of economic man), the author tries to testify the above mentioned viewpoints and seek to find ways to solve realistic problems.
