Gan Lu Zi Shu, Wu Jing Wen Zi, Jiu Jing Zi Yang (briefly named as three dictionaries in the Tang Dynasty), are three important dictionaries of the standardized form in the history of Chinese characters philology.The paper consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, we give a definition and name of nonstandard forms of characters. In addition, we introduce current research situation, use of edition and study methods on nonstandard forms of characters about three dictionaries in the Tang Dynasty. In the second chapter, we mainly research the background of three dictionaries. In the third chapter, we briefly recommend the writer, origin, contant,style and general conditions of nonstandard forms of characters in three dictionaries. In the fourth chapter, seven types of nonstandard forms of characters are generaled and analysed and also we seek reasons for the production and spread of nonstandard forms of characters in three dictionaries In the last chapter, we sum up six features of nonstandard forms of characters in three dictionaries and give the significance of our research.In short,the study on nonstandard forms of characters in three dictionaries in the Tang Dynasty is a starting point for studying modern characters. Knowing the situation about usage of characters in the Tang Dynasty, we can reverse the bad situation which is top-heavy and unsteady in the research of Chinese philology to some extent, so as to establish an integrated system of Chinese philology.
