YunJing represents the phonetic system of Wei Jin Sui Tang Dynasty ,while SiShengDengZi represents the phonetic system of mid-Song Dynasty .This thesis tries to compare the two rhyme diagrams in the changing arranging and alliterations, and to illustrate the changing phonetic system that the comparisons reflect. This thesis mainly used the method of historical comparison as well as contemporary comparison. Based on the two rhyme diagrams ,the thesis compare two grams with other contemporary rhyme books or rhyme grams. From the detailed comparison we find that some "double rhymes" blonging to different kinds in YunJing such as dong and dong in the First Deng, jia jie and guai in the Second Deng have combined into one rhyme respectively in SiShengDengZi. Three groups of the Third Deng rhymes such as dong and zhong, zhi zhi zhi and wei have been combined into one rhyme in SiShengDengZi. The five groups of pure Fourth Deng rhymes such as qi xiao xian qing and tian are not confused with other rhymes in YunJing, while in SiShengDengZi they are combined with the Third Deng rhymes having the same rears and the same mainly vowels. For the limit of rhyme grams ,there are some rhyming words of False Second Deng and False Fourth Deng in YunJing. Actually they are all true Third Deng rhyming words . In SiShengDengZi they are still arranged separately. This reflects that they still have the phonetic (consonant)distinction from the real Third Deng rhyming words, shows its conservativeness in still arranging the ChongNiu rhyming words separately as in YunJing. Entering tone rhymes not only match with Yang Sheng rhymes but with Yin Sheng rhymes in SiShengDengZi, while in YunJing they merely match with Yang Sheng rhymes. This reflects that the rear of entering tone has changed into the rear of glottal stop. The study in this thesis will deepen the study of phonetics especially the mid-ancient phonetics .It has a great academic and social meaning in studying the dialects and popularizing the common speech of Chinese language.
