Xie Cilü was born in Quanzhou, Guangxi Province. He spent his most time in the period of Kangxi (the second emperor's reign in Qing Dynasty) and Yongzheng (the third emperor's reign in Qing Dynasty). He was the first man of Qing Dynasty to be magistrate to Guangxi Province. As an official as well as a poet in the early time of Qing Dynasty, he had produced Yueshantang Anthology. This dissertation has a deep and elaborate collation and annotation on this anthology for reduction of errors and resumption of its originality, correction of inaccurate punctuations and annotations, and for detailed and precise annotations and analysis on the obscure characters, allusions, quotations, historical facts and the citation and digestion of the other poem lines so that the average readers can understand the poems. On the other hand, this dissertation has a brief introduction of Xie Cilü's time in Qing dynasty, the cultural environment and poetry world in that period, and a thorough research on his extraction and life, and the theme, the mode, the artistic style of his poems, especially his creation of atmospheres and the characteristics of his aesthesis. These tasks are fulfilled to give a just comment on Xie Cilü's poems and make readers have a comprehensive understanding of this anthology.
