Xu Yue (1853-about1928) was born in Panyu,Guangdong province, and his ancestor was in Qiantang(named Hangzhou today),Zhejiang province. Xu Yue Once act as the Secretary of Quan Wenbing,who was the magistrate of Pingle county in Guangxi province, and the Secretary of Zhang Liangui , who was the magistrate of Guangxi province. Xu Yue worked in Guangxi province more than twenty years, and he went to Beijing to see the Guangxu Emperor in 1896 , so and then he became a Secretary of Zhao Shuchi, who was the magistrate of Jiangsu province. Later Xu Yue acted as the magistrate of Suining , Yuechi , Fuzhou , Chengdu, Fengdu , Fushun county , Sichuan province. And he acted as the Xunjingdao of Sichuan province in the winter of 1900 . Xu Yue liked to write pomes since he was a little boy , and learned about Sscriptures and history , and he produced Yiyuan Anthology. Yiyuan Anthology has abundant contents, and we can learn that Xu Yue has great skills in poems writing.On one hand, this thesis has a deep and elaborate Collation and annotation on Yiyuan Anthology, according to the related material such as the poems and author's note to the anthology , for reduction of errors and resumption of its originality in order to reflect the original appearance of the poems , and for dialed and precise annotation and analysis on the obscure characters, allusions, quotations, historical facts , so that readers can understand the poems correctly.On the other hand, this thesis has a thorough research on Xu Yue's extraction and life, and the theme, the artistic style of his pomes. Especially the realism artistic based on loving country . This thesis tries to have a appropriate evaluation to Xu Yue and his poems, and let readers understand Xu Yue and his pomes completely and correctly.
