Statement And Appraisement On The Northwest Economic Development Of Kuomindang Government During The Resistance War Against Japan

The anti-Japanese war is lasting war, Kuomindang government carried out the policy "resist the Japan aggressors and build country advanced alongside", and made the orientation of rear-area: "Southwestern region is the base of anti-Japanese war, Northwestern region is the base of building country". With the development of the war, the strategic position of Northwestern was more and more important, so Kuomindang government strengthen the building of northwestern region, "Golden Times" of Northwestern development occurred.Based on the research by the predecessors and contemporaries, the author has conducted systematic study on the economic development. The article was divided into three parts: In the first part, the author expounded and analyzed the motivation, opinion and the development of making policy of northwestern development of Kuomindang government in the anti-Japanese war. In the second part, the author revealed a series of policies, measures and achievements that were accomplished by Kuomindang government through selecting facts and data of fields, such as the traffic, agriculture and mining industry etc. In the third part, the author made an analysis, evaluation and reflection on Northwestern development of the anti-Japanese war through social, economic and political fields.Although there are some limits in the northwestern economic development of Kuomindang government in the anti-Japanese war, it supported the anti-Japanese war and coordinated the distribution of economy, promoted the exchange of the culture between east and west in China and between some foreign countries and China, advanced the development of modernized process in northwestern region. As well as losses in the process of the implementation of economic development will certainly provide reference to our western development currently.
