| Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education is an invaluable cultural heritage of China, which has been deeply melted into the ideology and criterions of Chinese peoples. Being cumulated as a kind of mood in heritage of morality, it has made great influences on the formation of Chinese ethos, on the formation of politics actions, cultural consciousness, views of morality and value of Chinese Peoples, and on bringing up talents with ideal personalities. In the course of Chinese moral construction of socialism, Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education has also played an active role in fostering talents with ideological and political qualities.Reflecting on, explaining, transforming and inheriting Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education is actually to probe into, to succeed to ancient Chinese civilization and excellent traditional culture and to make the past serve the present. There is positive and practical significance in strengthening and improving moral education in universities, establishing socialistic moral education of Chinese characteristics in the new era, enhancing practical effects of moral education, training talents with noble sentiments, and realizing the reconstruction of the nation.This thesis tries to research Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education with a dialectical materialist point of view and a practical attitude on the background of politics, economy, history and culture of that time. In the course of researching, this thesis tries to eliminate the false and retain the true, disinter inherent value, and make modern transformation to endow with new meanings on Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education in a creative way according to the times.There are four parts of this thesis:Part One: The political, historic and cultural background of Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education is analyzed. This is to analyze Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education correctly andcomprehensively. Firstly, the thesis disinters the historical and cultural legacy, by analyzing the political and economical factors of that time, and analyze the core of Chinese culture: the moralism and the means of realization. Secondly, Confucius' and Mencius' status in history, their ideality of the world and the views of moral education are evaluated impersonally, affirming their zealousness of salvation and the system of worthiness in moralizing human's life. Meanwhile, the thesis points out their solemn and stirring of 'One who knows something can not be done does it indeed', when Confucius and Mencius tried to realize their idealities.Part Two: Confucius' and Mencius' basic thought of moral education is interpreted. First, the main contents and achievements of Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education are introduced. Second, the basic principles of Confucius' and Mencius' thought of morality and how to bring it into effect are discussed.Part Three: Collisions of Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education is analyzed and modem challenges which moral education in universities faces are illustrated. First, the thesis analyzes localization of Confucius' and Mencius' moral education and tells the different specialties between Confucius' and Mencius' moral education and modern moral education. Then the social reality and variety of modern challenges which moral education in universities faces are expounded accordingly.Part Four: The modern transformation and inheritance of Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education in college education aspect are illustrated. First, the thesis analyzes the modern transformation of Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education with respect to moral education in universities. Then it transforms the original Confucius' and Mencius' thought of moral education into modern one, by endowing with new meanings and inheriting parts of Confucius' and Mencius' thought Thus, it helps the fulfillment of work on modern moral education in universities. |
