Amalgamation Trends Of Chinese And Western Painting From Lin Fengmian's Harmonization

Lin Fengmian, an inaugurator of Chinese modern brush art, was one of innovative thoughts of art educators. He also was one of art theoreticians full of foresights and famous for his art accomplishments overseas.The art accomplishments and characteristics of Lin Fengmian's were discussed in this thesis, especially his harmonization on Chinese and western arts. Those would be valuable reference to modern Chinese brush arts creation.History backgrounds of Lin Fengmian's harmonization were analyzed at first, in which intrinsic factors of it were emphasized. According to analysis of materials and understandings of his brush works, psychic connotations, art characteristics and opinion, as well as aesthetics characteristics were outlined clearly. In conclusion parts of this thesis, harmonization trends of western and Chinese brush arts were depicted. And amalgamating points as well as difficulties were also discussed in this thesis. Based on confluent points of Lin Fengmian's harmonization of western and Chinese brush art, research on Lin Fengmian's works would have epoch-making valuable reference meanings to modem Chinese brush arts.This thesis emphasized particularly on forming backgrounds and characteristics of Lin's harmonization of Chinese and western arts. Important reference meanings of it were also put forwards for modem Chinese brush arts developments and the author also outlined the possible factors for modem Chinese brush arts referring to western brush arts. As a conclusion, references and amalgamation would be developing way of modem Chinese brush arts.
