The Research On The Relationship Between The Suicide Actions Of Students From The Technical Secondary Schools And Psychological And Social Factors

Adolescent suicide has become the international public health problem and one of the researching items in the field of international mental health. According to the report from the WHO, there were millions of people dying of committing suicides in the world in 2000. The suicide rate reached 14.5 per 100000. In Hong Kong the rate had been rising from the 9.6 per 100000 in 1981 to 15 per 100000. In China, commit suicide to die has became the first reason of death among adolescence of over 15 years, the first accidental death was commit suicide among the group of age from 10 to 14 years and from 15 to 19 years in female. However, the adolescent suicide death was just the floating part of the iceberg of the suicide actions. The suicide ideation, plan and intention are more common, which have great influence on the juveniles' psychological health. The suicide intention is one of the superior predicting factors of the suicide death.Adolescent period is the transitional period from the immaturity to the maturity in psychology. Their abilities to face the frustration are relatively poor. Coping with the school pressure, difficulty in making friends and other social adaptation, they may have the suicide ideation, plan and even actions.Since the system reform in the education and employment, there are great changes in the situation of students' resources of technical and vocational schools. Meanwhile they are faced with greater employment pressure. Therefore, it' s necessary to evaluate the severity degree and distributing characters of the three suicide behaviors of the students. In addition, the relationship between the suicide behaviors and life events, self-consciousness, coping styles, emotional situation, psychological and social factors should be analyzed to provide scientific proofs to the intervention measurements for preventing the adolescent suicide.
