In order to understand the childhood behavior disorder and suicide ideation in primary school studens in Changsha City,and to identify factors affecting childhood behavior disorder and suicide ideation of children, 1060 primary school students ,796 persons from urban areas and 264 from rural area,were randomly sampled from six primary schools in Changsha by multiple cluster sampling. Subjects were measured by Rimer's questionnaires for teachers, Life Event questionnaires for primary school students and EMBU etc.Stepwise regression method was used to analyse demographic,psychological and social factors which may have effect on childhood behavior disorder. Also the multiple logistic regression analysis was used to identify significant risk factors for suicide ideation of children.Results:The prevalence rates of children with devient scores on the teacher's scales of Rutter questionnaires were 16.3%. Stepwise regression analysis reveal that the major risk factors for childhood behavior disorder are countryside students,higher grade,male,bad relationship with classmate and more life events. At the same time, 28.3% students reported they have suicide ideation. Multiple logistic regression analysis show that the major risk factors for children's suicide ideation are beliving in soul being,more life events,mother's sternness and punishment,happy attitude to death,not being taken care of by their parents and elder.Conclusions:Childhood behavior disorder and children's suicide ideation are affected by several kinds of psychological and social factors and now becoming a focus problem.Therefore Parents,teachers and the government should pay more attention to these problems and try their best to improve primary school students'mental health.
