The Probing Study On Supporting Graphics In Corporate Identity Design

Based on horizontal comparison and relational analysis, the thesis studies supporting graphics in CI design by theoretically research and real world experience. The paper sorts out some conceptual chaos in this arena, and defines explicitly the concept and scope. It compares the supporting graphics with other concerned factors, and recognizes a proper methodology for diagramming a supporting graphics. Furthermore, importance of the study and the future trend of the design are also enclosed in this thesis. Research shows that a supporting graphic, as one of the basic factors of CI design and close companion of logo or other identities, is a graphic system that has been widely utilized by various media in various arenas. Being a supplemental visual mark, a supporting graphic presents complement, enrichment, enhancement, and development to an enterprise identity by combining and supporting functions of logo, icon, standardized word and color, resulting in more complete understanding and more meaningful recognition. Although its function is subjected to logo, a supporting graphic is necessary in the whole CI system. It can improve flexibility of such basic factors as logo, standard word and color, by which it contributes more effective visual penetration by its extensive and profound expression that people feel more comfortable and friendly to the enterprise.Its design methods varies in specific motives, structures, colors, and flavors for a design, depending on a enterprise's vision and whole design picture. We expect more mutually, friendly, and commonly designs to come due to more concern and study on supporting graphics.
