| There are great political and national crises in modern China. Under this background, the problems about talent become more serious, which is concerned by many people of noble aspirations.The study object of the article is the talent idea of some important disciples of You-wei Kang who is a famous politician, thinker and educator in modern China. These disciples of Kang has followed their teacher to participate the Reformation of 1898 or the concerned cause in the late 19th and early 20th century. Their talent idea takes shape in this special environment, and has complete, systematical features based on carrying forward some idea of the predecessors and acquired knowledge from You-wei Kang. The article discusses the contents of talent idea of the Kang's disciples in three parts, which are the definition of the talent, the cultivation of talent, the selection and appointing of talent. Then it is thought that the talent idea of the Kang's disciples have three features which are progressing in the times, relatively thorough exploring, and transitional to a more advancing stage.
