The Exploration And Revelation Of The Study Of Zuo Zhuan In Han Dynasty

Zuo Zhuan is the most important classical works of Confucianism, as for its significance, it is scripture ;as for its style,it is historical work;as for its usage,it is literature work. ZuoZzhuan has been handed down for two thousand years,in the process ,it caused great influence,but aroused the most controversy at the same time. As far as the theory of scripture is concerned,Zuo Zhuan used the historical facts to illustrate the Spring and Autumn Annals,it was different from the Gongyang Zhuan and Guliang Zhuan ,which used the "sublime words with deep meaning" to illustrate the Spring and Autumn Annals。Compared with Gongyang Zhuan and Guliang Zhuan ,we can say,the illustration of Zuo Zhuan is more nearer to the reality. "Li"(the regularity of morality)was highlighted in Zuo Zhuan,it emphasizes the hierarchy of the monarchy and his subjects,so it was praised by the authority since the Later Han Dynasty. As for the historical aspect,Zuo Zhuan could be seen as the true history of the two hundred and fifty years of the Spring and Autumn period ,its historical spirit of write the history according to the truth and its method of write the history give more nurture to the posterity. As for the literature aspect,Zuo Zhuan is the origin of the historical biography literature,its method of narration and depiction set an example for the later ages,from Sima Qian ,the eight big writer of Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty, to the Tongcheng School of Qing Dynasty, all saw Zuo Zhuan as an pattern. From the several aspects we can see the value of Zuo Zhuan. By now,the research of Zuo Zhuan itself has got many achievements,but the research of the academic history of Zuo Zhuan was very weak。As I know,there are only two special works:one is Chunqiu Zuozhuan Xue Shigao ,written by Sheng Yucheng and Liu Ning;the other is Chunqiu Shufa Yu Zuozhuan Xueshi,written by Taiwan scholar Zhang Gaoping ,but the two books were all limited by there own stylistic rules,so they can only select the major part as their object,as for the specific material of one dynasty especially the Han Dynasty,they had many omission. But the Study of Zuo Zhuan in Han Dynasty has got many achievements and has caused great influence to the later ages,so the research of the Study of Zuo Zhuan in Han Dynasty has great significance. This article will discuss this problem from six aspects。 In the introduction section,the author will introduce the importance of Zuo Zhuan and the significance of the Study of Zuo Zhuan in Han Dynasty.The first section is "the spread of Zuo Zhuan before Han Dynasty",in this part,from the historical records and the citation of Zuo Zhuan by the various schools of thought during the Pre-Qin period,the author wish to prove that Zuo Zhuan has been finalized and has got wide spread. Some people had even researched Zuo Zhuan from various aspects according different purpose. All of this had laid a strong foundation for the Study of Zuo Zhuan in Han Dynasty. The second section is "the historical materials selection of Zuo Zhuan in Han Dynasty",in this part ,the author will sort out the material through three aspect:(1)the people of Han Dynasty who had read Zuo Zhuan in their life according to the historical records;(2)the people who had special works of Zuo Zhuan in Han Dynasty;(3)the people of Han Dynasty who had cited Zuozhuan in their works;from the amount of people in different period,we can see that the Study of Zuo Zhuan in Han Dynasty had underwent a complicate process—from comparative prosperity to decline ,then to development again and at last got prospect again.
