Exploration & Analysis On Social Ethics Under Human Gene Technology

It is a dream and pursuit of human being from generation to generation to explore the secret of life, to figure out the puzzle of birth, death, growing old and sickness, to facilitate or get rid of the diseases for the sake of improving people's living standards and prolonging human lifetime. From a long time, the human beings have been making efforts for it, and though a great deal of cost was consumed, no significant progress has been made. However, discovery of gene and the development genetic technology enabled human being to study the secret of life in a molecule level, and to see limps of hope and march near to the day that dreams would come true.This article briefly introduced the background and the present situation of gene technology and the human genome project in the first part, and has analyzed the many kinds of social value which the current gene technology brings. In the 19th century, Mendel, through experiment on yellow bean and yellow bean in his plant garden, proved the existence of genetic factors. In 1909, Danish botanist Johannsen officially proposed the term Gene to define concept of genetic factor. The discovery of gene is a milestone of human history in the 20th century. Biotechnology, leading by gene technology, like a miracle, has formed a new hi-tech group, taking the lead of the pace. It has opened many brand new applied fields in biology, medicine, meditation and various other industries. As products of gene technology gradually entering the market, gene technology benefits production and people's life a lot, making significant impact.This article has pointed out the gene technology associated negative influence in the second part. Several ethics questions create which to it have carried on the discussion. The appearance, development and application of a new technology always influence traditional moral ideas and regulations. As a core of the 21st century's bioscience, gene technology inevitably challenges traditional moral system, bringing up many unprecedented social moral problems and law problems, such as the privacy of personal genetic information. Gene can provide a great mount of personal information, including possibilities of certain disease, and even personalities. Then, who has the right to know other's genetic information? Besides, prejudice led by genetic differences has already appeared in western countries and is tend to spread out. As to the genetic resources, developed countries, using their advantages on technology and economy, wantonly plunder genetic resources of developing countries, forming horrible gene colonialism.This article attempts discuss the standard interaction relations of the gene technology and ethics theoretically in the third part. Had pointed out that solution ethics difficult position should comply with some specifically ethics principle. Pointed out benefit the human being must through the reality way guidance gene technology. We cannot overlook social and moral problems caused by gene technology. The light of human ration should not only be manifested in the creation of scientific technology which presses forward social development, but also in the utilization of moral force to regulate scientific technology and make them develop in a way which is favorable to human being. This demands us to reflect on gene technology, construct a moral system and moral rules that is suitable to gene era through many practical ways; to enhance governmental conduct, to improve the moral cognition of technological workers, to supervise gene technology by public opinions, and to guard the development and application of gene technology. Only in this way can human being enjoy the benefit and value brought by gene technology in peace.
