| Michael Landmann is a typical figure of Cultural Philosophical Anthropolgy. In his Cultural Philosophical A nthropolgy, he thinks the difference between people and animal lies in that the animal is specialization and people have the unspecialized characteristics, from which he defined people as " the existence of culture creation ". Specialization is first an instinct of an animal. An animal has to adapt to environment for a better existence. This kind of adaptation to the environment makes the animal all have his own special skills, which we regard as the instinct. The instinct of the animal is strong. This, just as opening different locks with different keys, the instinct of the animal always agreed with some kind of special natural environment. So this kind of instinct is unspecialized. Compared with animal, people take on the specific characteristic of specification. Mankind is deficient on the instinct, and so it cannot equate with animal. People have no specializaed instinct. Naturally, t here a re n o regulations t hat r equire people to do this or t hat. M ankind i s a kind of specific living beings unspecialized. It is not the specialized instinct but culture that mankind relies on. Culture has not only remedied the lack of instinct, which is in fact a kind of excessive compensation. This makes the mankind not confined to a natural field any longer. Mankind represents a kind of characteristic of infinity and openness. But is mankind not totally specialized today? Does mankind not have any specialized instinct? Through an analysis of the practice of contemporary medical science, the answer that we have got is negative. Mankind also has a specialized instinct, which is the people's " originative power ". "Originative power "means a kind of complex power that are developed through various physical functions like immunity, adjustment and regeneration to antagonize dissident powers from the o utside and to maintain i ts own existence.. Living beings are sure to receive various kinds of injury in the course of their growth s because of various kinds of reasons. This kind of injury may be physical, or chemical, and can be universal——on the level of organic tissues , or e microcosmic ——on the l evel of c ells and gene. Because the specialized instinct, a nimals c an deal with the injury more than sufficiently. But to the mankind, situations will be much complicated. To mankind, this kind of injury to the organism is a disease. Obviously, during the course of human development in initial stage, it can only be the people's own "originative power" that people depend on to resist all the powers that encroach human body. In the view of modern people, it seems that our medical science has already replaced this kind of function of "originative power". "Originative power" has already degenerated as other instincts do. Then is the fact so? Namely, does modern mankind rely on the "originative power" of mankind on earth? And how much does it rely? Obviously, this is a question for medical science to answer this question. According t o i ts relation w ith " originative power", t he treatment method of c ontemporary medical science can be divided into two big classes. The essence of the treatment method of the first type is to utilize the "originative power" of the human body, and the means is very ingenious. In other words, it offers a better environment to utilize "originative power" .The method of the second type needn't depend on "originative power" basically. The diseases that the method deals with are in fact mainly caused by external pathogenic animalcules. Nowadays, mankind rely on various kinds of antibiotic, not "originative power", to resist diseases basically. And the invention and abuse of antibiotic make the evolution of these pathogenic animalcules suddenly accelerate, and produce the mutant sub-generation, the result of which is that the existing medicine almost has no lethality to them.
