Regarded as an attempt of combining the theory of speech-deviance with that of speech-listening and applying which into Teaching Chinese Listening as a Second Language (TCLSL), the key problem that this thesis discusses is to demonstrate the necessity and the feasibility of establishing a listening teaching model based upon style in advanced TCSL. The thesis consists of six chapters, which follows the clue of what is speech-listening and what is style, why to cultivate the stylistic competence and how to cultivate the stylistic competence. Chapter 1&2 summarizes the theories related to speech-listening and speech-deviance. Chapter 3 expounds the viewpoints regarding the layers of the stylistic structure, the stylistic competence in one's mother tongue and the cultivation of the stylistic competence in one's second language (SCSL), emphasizing that the advantage of forming SCSL, which is the keyword of making a tactful communication by language, lies in the prenatal mechanism of acquiring stylistic competence and the positive transition from that in one's mother tongue while the biggest barrier of cultivating SCSL is the time-space limitation during the second language learning, which leads to the conclusion that systematical direction and intensive training are the keywords of SCSL cultivation. From a general research on the current situation of stylistic competence cultivation in TCLSL by means of quantitative analysis and experiment, Chapter 4&5 concludes that due to the scarcity of a conscious cultivation in intermediate and advanced listening teaching, students have difficulties of different levels in understanding written and oral language by listening. Therefore, based on theoretical discussion and situation analysis, the thesis puts forward with reference to the results of the questionaire in the last chapter a conception of establishing a stylistic listening teaching model, which aims at providing some preliminary suggestions in changing current situation when advanced students have weak stylistic listening, and is supposed to have significance in introducing the theory of speech-deviance into TCSL to improve the whole theoretical system of the subject, guiding curriculum setting, teaching material edition and class teaching in advanced listening and bringing about the general research on style in TCSL. To sum up, the thesis discusses the problems as follows:1, The What Problem(Chapter 1&2): the process of speech listening, currentresearch on the style of foreign language and Chinese.2, The Why Problem(Chapter 3&4&5): the significant status of the stylistic competence in one's communicative competence and the particularity of cultivating SCSL, the current situation of cultivating SCSL in TGLSL and that of advanced students' stylistic listening.3 ,The How Problem(Chapter 6): to establish a stylistic listening teaching model based on theoretical foundation, teaching goals, conditions to achieve, operating procedure and evaluation of the model.
