Charles Dickens is a great realistic British writer of 19th century, who has been praised and criticized averagely both before and after death. His life is filled with drama and he almost becomes an actor. Dickens has created a rich artistic world by his gift. In his coverall world, grotesque world is an important part and doesn't cut no figure. It's at least one of the factors which can draw readers' interests. The grotesque itself is a complicated word, and Dickens doesn't realize that there is a peculiar flower in his artistic world, for him there is only plot in his novels which shows the grotesque feature. But after carefully studying we can find that the mixed characters, the peculiar surroundings and the rich language can remind us of one popular word, which is grotesque. In this article we define the grotesque as having mixed up things in diffe(?)field and being able to arose the complicated and violent emotion of readers. Meanwhile in order to respond to his eager readers Dickens tries his best to use advanced skills to build his grotesque world. He chooses proper visual angle, makes good use of the relationship of the characters or the characters and the surroundings, depends on the dreams of the actors, pays attention to the details, brings exaggerating and repetition into his novels. All he has done makes his grotesque world more charming. At the same time his grotesque world is provided with special aesthetic features including teasing, satire and tragedy. As a word, the study of Dickens' grotesque world is important for the research of Dickens.
