Relation Between Mind Body Health And Self-esteem, Personality, Interpersonal Relation, Achievement Motivation Of Impoverished Undergraduates

Impoverished undergraduates is a special group.They take on heavy stress of not only studying but also economical difficulty. They have unhealthy mind traits of inferiority, anxiety, sensitive and depression. In recent years mind body health of impoverished undergraduates has been paid high attention. To study the mind body health of impoverished undergraduates, provide more scientific and effective theoretical basis for mental health education of impoverished undergraduates and formulate more systematic, scientific and effective tactics for mental health education of them. A total of 634 undergraduates coming from 18 classes of Shaanxi Normal University, Xi'an university of finance and economics and Xi'an Industry University were investigated.Among them 242 impoverished undergraduates were selected as study group and 392 non-impoverished undergraduates as control group. Five psychological scales (CMI, SES, EPQ—RSC, interpersonal relation diagnose scale and AMS) were used for assessment. In this research four aspects of problems were studied:1. The mind body health state of impoverished undergraduates.2. Self-esteem, personality, interpersonal relation, and achievement motivation of impoverished undergraduates.3. The relation between the mind body health state of impoverished undergraduates and self-esteem, personality, interpersonal relation and achievement motivation.4. The effect of self-esteem, personality, interpersonal relation and achievement motivation on the mind body health of impoverished undergraduates.Results of the research reveals:1. The state of mind body health has significant difference between two groups. The state of respiratory system, skin, nervous system, weary feelings, past health state, past disease, adaptation disorder, anxiety in impoverished group is worse than that of non-impoverished group. The number of mind body disorder of male students in impoverished group is more than that of non-impoverished group.2. The state of mind body health of impoverished undergraduates has significant difference between male undergraduates and female undergraduates.So has that of liberal arts undergraduates and science and engineering undergraduates. Respiratory system, past health state, past disease of male impoverished undergraduates are worse than that of female impoverished undergraduates.Digestive system, skin, reproductive urinary system and tension of female impoverished undergraduates are worse than that of male impoverished undergraduates.Skin and past disease of liberal arts impoverished undergraduates are worse than that of science and engineering undergraduates. The state of mind body health has significant difference among impoverished undergraduates whose parents have different relation and who have got different comprehensive examine achievement.3. The level of self-esteem of impoverished undergraduates is significantly lower than non-impoverished undergraduates. Gender, grade, major, and the interaction don't have any significant influence on self-esteem of impoverished undergraduates. So do Parents' relation and comprehensive examine achievement.4. The extroversion, Neuroticism and Lie of impoverished group have significant difference with that of non-impoverished group. They are more introversive,and have more emotional instability. They tend to conceal themselves. Interaction between gender and major have significant main effects on the Neuroticism of impoverished undergraduates. Parents' relation has a main effect on the Psychoticism of the impoverished undergraduates. Comprehensive examine achievement has a main effect on the Lie of impoverished undergraduates.5. The trouble of the total interpersonal relation, interpersonal conversation, friendly relations and the opposite sex relations of impoverished undergraduates is significantly more than that of non-impoverished undergraduates. Grade, major don't have main effects on the trouble of interpersonal relation, but gender have.The trouble of the male'opposite sex relations is more than that of the female'.Parents' relation and comprehensive examine achievement have main effects on the interpersonal relation of the impoverished undergraduates.6. The level of achievement motivation of impoverished undergraduates is significantly higher than that of non-impoverished undergraduates. Gender has a main effect on the level of achievement motivation of impoverished undergraduates. Motivation of the male' get success is significantly higher than that of the female'.7. Mind body symptom of the impoverished group has significantly negative relation with self-esteem of it.8. Mind body symptom of the impoverished group has significantly negative relation with the Extraversion and Lie. It has significantly positive relation with the Neuroticism. Past disease of the impoverished group has significantly positive relation with Psychoticism.9. Mind body symptom of the impoverished group has significantly positive relation with the trouble of the interpersonal relation of it.10. Mind body symptom of the impoverished group has significantly negative relation with the achievement motivation of it. It has negative relation with the motivation of get success and significantly positive relation with the motivation of avoid failure.11. Neuroticism, the trouble of way of deal with things and the motivation of avoid failure have direct effects on the mind body health of impoverished undergraduates. Through Extraversion, Neuroticis, Lie, trouble of interpersonal conversation, trouble of friendly relations ,the trouble of way of deal with things and motivation of avoid failure, self-esteem has indirect effect on the mind body health of impoverished undergraduates. The trouble of interpersonal conversation and friendly relations have indirect effects on the mind body health of impoverished undergraduates through Neuroticism. Through trouble of interpersonal conversation, trouble of friendly relations and motivation of avoid failure, Extraversion has indirect effect on the mind body health of impoverished undergraduates. Psychoticism has indirect effect on the mind body health of impoverished undergraduates through the trouble of interpersonal conversation and friendly relation. Lie has effect on the mind body health of impoverished undergraduates through the trouble of interpersonal conversation.12.
