In recent years, the issues of college students' mental health had being attached great importance by people from all works of life. As was proved by many researches, people's interpersonal relationship and personality were both of great importance to his or her mental health state. Since a lot of seriously vicious events of college students had occurred, the interpersonal relationship in college dormitories had aroused the concern of our psychologists. Some counseling and researches had also proved that the interpersonal relationship in college dormitories can been regarded as an index reflecting students' mental health conditions, as well as the personality was a determinative factor to the interpersonal relationship in college dormitories. In view of these facts, this article try to explore what differences of personality there was between the college students who had good or bad interpersonal relationship and different mental health conditions and how to interact among the personality, interpersonal relationship of dormitory and mental health conditions,In these researches, 408 college students were selected as subjects from six departments affiliated respectively to Hebei Normal University and Shijiazhuang College. The measuring instruments used in this research include QZPS ( Qingnian Zhongguo personality Scale ) compiled by Wangdengfeng ; SCL—90 (Symptom Checklist 90), and the measuring instrument of J.L.Moreno Sociometry. This research has proved that:(1) The mental health state of college students is not up to the standards in general. College students' mental health states does not vary with origin, gender, academic records, income of family. The college student of one-child families is better in mental health than who was not of one-child families.(2) The personality of college students varies with such factors as gender, origin, class leader or not, dorm leader or not, household yearly income. Female students, students from countryside, class leaders or dorm leaders, students from high yearly income families etc. will have more positive personality traits.(3)The students with more positive personality traits will have more healthy mental states; They will enjoy a more harmonious interpersonal relationship with his...
