On The Significance Of Impromptu Activities In Music Education

The importance of encouraging students'creativity through impromptu activities has been put forward in music education long before and there have good examples in the practice of modern music education's development. However, it lacks sufficient theoretical support, which makes the valued activity form hard to launch deeply in the practice and makes teachers diffident in using impromptu activities. Therefore the emphasis of this article is to use proper theories to prove the view. Starting from the connotation of the improvisation, this paper adopts philosophical and psychological theories to prove the rationality of improvisation's existence. Then the author points out the ultimate aim of music education through the analysis of music education. Meanwhile, the article proves the inevitability between impromptu activities and the aim of music education, and poses corresponding demands of teachers in using impromptu activities in music education.
