In this paper,Yutaishan was a cemetery from the Spring and Autumeperiod to the Warring states period of Chu,it was distributing on foursouthernnorth hilllocks about 500m to the east of Jinancheng. It included 557graves excavated from the middle November in 1975 to the late January in1976.It was published in the paper named The Chu State Tombs atYutaishan of Jiangling.Because the chronology has admitted in the academe ,and potteryvessels had been analysed by CASA,the result has not only validated thechronology, but also provided the relative order of the graves. In themeanwhile, many scholars has done different researchs from varies angleand varies hiberarchy. This paper is based on my preceders'study, itcombines to the funerary objects, subarea of the graveyard, and thearrangement of different cluster of graves. So it tried to seeing about thebury displine of the midium and small graves of Chu,the character ofgraveyard and some correlative issues. The paper consists of seven parts. The first part is about the general situation of the graveyard. It includesthe distributions, the shape of graves, coffin and chamber of tombs, buryfashion, the lay of funerary objects, the kind of the pottery vessels, familiarcombinations of these pottery vessels, and the bronze ware, ironware ,lacquer and carpentry. The second part is about the chronology and stages of the graves.Itdivided into six periods, beginning from the middle Spring and Autumnperiod to the late Warring States period. In my paper ,the stages in the reportis still used, but in comparison with the result of CASA ,I carry throughsome adjust. The third part is about the subarea of the graveyard.According to thegeneral geography ,the graveyard can be divided into four districts.Fromtheir daily used pottery vessels and imitated copper amenity pottery vesselswe also can see the different bury feature.so we can divide the graveyardinto four different districts. The forth part is about the divided cluster of graves in the third and theforth districts.Through observing,we can find the ordinally arrangment ofthe graves. There are some spaces in the graves, and the graves just collocatearound the space.Through these spaces,we can divide the third district intosix varies clusters, the forth district into four clusters.Seeing from the potteryvessels ,we can find the funerary objects are also unlike.so we can knowdifferent grave cluster has its own characteristic combitions.and bythem, they are distinguish from others. The fifth part is about the bury rule of the grave clusters.Seeing fromthe relatively serial analyse,we can gain the ralative order of the graves.sogain the bury rule of different grave clusters. The rule is divided into threesituations:The first is almost the entire graves arrange in retrorse hour handor opposite direction around the space. The second is part of graves arrangedin order but others are in confusion. The third is no one can know its orderbecause they are just in confusion . The sixth part is about the conjecture of the graveyard's character .Thegraves list densely but no break evidence. All this phenomena show at thattime there was special officials who took charge of the graveyard.Throughthe partition of the grave clusters,we can divide the whole people who usedthe graveyard into four administrative levels .Different graded graves list in...
