Self-concept is a comprehensively psychological system, and is also an important basis of personality structure .Hence, the study of Self-concept has long been one of a hot researches on human science at home and abroad ,especially in the field of psychology. The purposes of present research is to analyze the relations between Self-concept and Psychological health of children according to theses factors such as grade and their living areas and propose some suggestions for educational guidance according to the findings.Using Song-Hattie Self-concept scale revised by Zhou Guotao and He Lingfeng(1996), the author tested 920 children .The research is elaborated as the following:1.Self-concept of children varies according to the grade and is significantly different except class- self, companion -self, body-self and unperformance-self.2.Self-concept of children is significantly different according to the living areas. Urban children scored strikingly higher in Self-concept than rural children.3. Psychological health of children varies according to the grade and is significantly different in its factors except study-anxious, lonely-tendency, body-symptom and total scores.4. Psychological health of children varies according to the living areas. and is significantly different between Urban and Rural except impulse-tendency, and Urban children is higher than Rural children except impulse-tendency .5. The total scores of self-concept are negative related with psychological health and its factors—the higher the Self-concept is , the slower MHT scores is, the better the psychological health is .6. The investigation further shows that both psychological health and its factors can be predicated by at least three factor of Self-concept.
