Respectively using Song-Hattie self-concept scale revised by Zhou Guotao and He Ling feng(1996) and Mental Health Test(MHT) reformulated by Zhou Bu cheng(1991),the author tested self-concept and psychological health of grades3--6students,who come from a primary school in Beijing.The purpose of the present research is to analyze the difference of self-concept and psychological health made by these factors such as grade, gender, the class leader, the only child. In addition,the research is also to investigate the relation between self-concept and psychological health by correlation-analysis and regression-analysis.The results are elaborated as following:l.The total score of grades3--6students’ self--concept varies according to the grade and all factors are significantly different except ability-self, companion-self and confidence-self.What’s more,the developmental tendency of of self-concept’total score is decreasing from3to5grade and increasing from5to6grade.2. Besides class-self, the total score and all factors of grades3--6students’self--concept are not significantly different between boys and girls.That is to say, bogs’class--self is significantly higher than girls’.3. The total score of grades3--6students’ self--concept varies according to the class leader and all factors are obviously different between the class leaders and the general students except class--self and family--self.4. Self--concept of grades3--6students doesn’t vary according to the only child. 5.The total score of psychological health doesn’t vary according to the grade.However, there are some factors existing distinctly different such as stady--anxious,person--anxious,longly--tendency and allergy--tendency.6.The total score and all factors of psychological health of grades3--6students aren’t also significantly different according to the gender except horrible--tendency.Girls’ horrible--tendency is evidently higher than boys’.7.The total score and all factors of psychological health of grades3--6students aren’t also significantly different between the class leaders and the general students except lonely--tendency.The class leader’s lonely--tendency is obviously lower than the general students’ lonely--tendency.8.The total score and all factors of psychological health of grades3--6students aren’t also significantly different between the only child and the multiple children.9.The result of correlation--snalysis shows that the total score of self--concept is significantly negative related with psychological health and its factors(except family--self and body--self)--the higher the self--concept is, the lower MHT score is, the better the psychological health.lO.The regression--analysis reveals that both psychological health and its factors,except horrible--tendency,can be predicated by at least one factor of self--concept.
