On The Translation Of Chinese Modifier Into English

Being colorful, succinct and lively, Chinese modifier not only enjoys popularity among Chinese people but also forms an indispensable part of modern Chinese language. It makes itself heard in the dialogues of daily life or seen in newspapers and magazines and literary masterpieces. As globalization increases, the translation of Chinese modifier into English plays a more and more important role in communication nowadays. Thus, this paper takes a particular perspective on the translation of Chinese modifier into English and follows this through to existing problems in translating process, the guiding principles and possible strategies for its translation.
