Two German giants Carl Marx, outstanding thinker in 19th century, and Martin Luther, the most influential theologian, influence the world situation and development with their great works. Their different works lead to different beliefs: Socialism belief and Christian faith, thus, the comparison of their different works for two different times, beliefs and traditions will be of great importance.This thesis studies Marx and Luther's texts in the perspective of writing science by exploring the discourse motive, discourse theme and discourse strategy and adopting the study method of four-writing-part theory (writing subject, writing object, writing carrier and writing) throughout the thesis. Though in different historical context, Marx and Luther had the same psychology across the time and space but two different thinking methods for the perspective times. The same savior complex and different thinking method made their discourse motive, discourse theme and discourse strategy display the character of resistance and minglingDifferent methods of thinking made discourse motives go for resistant revolution ideology and mending religion ideology, surface theme of the discourse one for earthen people and the other for Christian. While their same savior complex made these two deep theme lead to the same freedom and revolution, which were ultimately the same. The difference of discourse motive and field endowed the employed discourse strategy with peculiar characteristics: one in the perspective of secular world while the other theology, one with emphasis laid on natural rationalism and experience and the other gift and holy experience, both concerned with sentiments and discourse expression, but one for conflict while the other softening.
