A Pragmatic Analyze On The Non-subject-predicate Sentence "Zhe NP"

"Zhe NP"is a kind of common structure in our life, it can exist as the form of sentence element , sentence and so on. Guiding by theory of "Three Level", this thesis chooses the non-subject-predicate sentence "Zhe NP"as our study object , mainly studies its pragmatic functions . As the base of this study, this thesis still discusses the pragmatic function of "Zhe"and "NP". This thesis includes four parts. The first part is the foreword. The part firstly defines the study object non-subject-predicate sentence "Zhe NP", and then describes the structure features of "Zhe NP"and "NP", finally looks back the study existed and introduces the problems which will be discussed and the basis study method. The second part is a pragmatic analysis on "Zhe". This part suggests that "Zhe"in "the non-subject-predicate sentence 'Zhe NP'"has not only the common demonstrative function , but also definite function, direction function and emotional function . The definite function of "Zhe"means that "Zhe"can make"Zhe NP"express the thing which has been known by hearer in speaker's mind. So , "Zhe"has the function of completing sentence in a way. The direction function of "Zhe"makes "Zhe NP"express "back salutation". The emotional function means that "Zhe "can add or enlarge the decline of emotion. The third part is a pragmatic analysis on "NP". It first introduces the emotional meaning of "NP", and then mainly study its deviation phenomenon. This part believes that "Zhe"can make the emotional meaning of "NP"deviate. The fourth part is a pragmatic analysis on "Zhe NP". This is the most important part. It believes that the non-subject-predicate sentence "Zhe NP"mostly exists in spoken language. The non-subject-predicate sentence "Zhe NP"has the functions of elicitation, emphasizing and expression. The elicitation function can elicit the topic. The emphasizing function can emphasize the emotion of "Zhe NP"while the expression function means it can express many kind of attitudes. The creation in the thesis are:(1) The thesis discusses the pragmatic function of "Zhe NP"by the order of from "Zhe"to "NP"to "Zhe NP". (2) It checkes the phenomena of the deviation of emotions of "Zhe NP", moreover, it countes the data related with stable. (3) The thesis expounds and explains the elicitation function which is similar but different to topic function. (4) The thesis expounds the relation between definite and the function of completing sentence. (5) The thesis classifies the emotion expressed by "Zhe NP". Moreover, it counts the ratio of the every kind of emotion in corpus.
