In recent years, the scale of Chinese design education increases too quickly, resulting in the degradation of teaching quality, as is fatal to the development of universities. Many universities overlook the intercrossing, marginal, advancing front of design discipline, and the deviation from practice for design education, and the deficiency in cultivate students' creativity and comprehensive disposition efficiently. Now a days university design education is devoid of enough understanding for design curricula, which are closely correlative to people's life style, disregarding its objectivity for professional education, and arrange curricula through copying each other. All these are crucial and difficult problem to be solved urgently.The professional curricula of design education system both for university of fine arts and of science and technology were studied comparatively. The aim is to learn the difference of professional curricula in different design education system through comparison, and make certain their respective teaching features by means of analysis and reasoning, as is helpful for the universities to construct a rational, scientific, and optimized curricula structure. A clear venation for optimizing and integrating professional curricula structure of design education is provided, through comprehensive comparison in curricula structure, content and aim, etc.For a long time, the students majoring art design are deficient either in creativity or in professional capability in technology. The curricula arrangement of design education for universities of fine arts pay more attention to the "painting capability" and the cultivation of art design and expression capability. But the design education in universities of scienceand technology pay more attention to practical and scientific training, and is unsubstantial in cultivating the creativity and art expression capability of students'.Today's information society is a new age of knowledge innovation, so the design education should emphasize knowledge innovation and the cultivation of person with ability and innovation, and arrange some curricula full of leading edge and adaptability in this new age. The design education should lay stress on the conversion of cultivating student from technique type to creativity type, and from the type of knowledge accumulation to knowledge innovation;The design education should aim to cultivate more advanced and complex professional persons with ability, through encouraging students to absorb the knowledge of relative disciplines, canonizing comprehensive design education and disposition education.
