In the literature world of new century, the works belong to the young writers born after 80s make the quite literature world crowded. A few pieces of works created and published by the youth are playing a primary role in the book's publishing and marketing worlds. Therefore, their works become a phenomenon of "the new popular books" in the new century. These kinds of literature events brought by the youth become a specific Chinese phenomenon in the literature world of the new century. This paper makes 'the 1980s' as a point of research, connects with the literature background and environment, uses popular literature theory to do a research about the reason of forming, development and popularity. The dissertation is divided into four chapters:Chapter 1, introduction: Literature review about the association of the two centuries, and the writing tendency of 'the 1980s' writers. The main character of this association's literature environment is that, popular culture becoming a point of view in China and developing dramatically. This sharp developing gives those writers of 'the 1980s' a cultural background. In this part, it mainly discusses the possibility and necessary of 'the 1980s' phenomenon's forming and developing from the aspect of culture background.Chapter 2, 'The 1980s' phenomenon's increasing dramatically: the cahoot of publishing marketing and public media. 'The 1980s' phenomenon's forming and developing relies on the support and attending of public culture. Its forming has deep connection of culture journals and book publishing marketing, furthermore, its popularity and developing can not be separated from public media's support and romancing. In the process of its forming and popularity, it shows cultural planning and book publishing marketing's marketing trend and the academic principles of 'finding the new continually' that figured out by the public media. In another word, 'the 1980s' writing's dramatic developing, the cahoot of publishing marketing and public media plays the role of activator.Chapter 3, the whole overview of 'the 1980s' writers: the literature production that faces the need of marketing actively. This chapter focuses on the analysis of the effect about the production of public culture and making principles work on the 'the 1980s' writers development.Chapter 4, the discomfiture of 'the 1980s' writing: the marketing's recognition of culture consumption and culture world's sinking. The works of'the 1980s' writers take a rather marketing share of book sale marketing. This makes their works become 'the most popular books to publish' for those large-scale publishing companies. Their writings become welcome in the literature publishing marketing. However, at the same time, it is much calmer in the literature world. This chapter tries to use the public literature consumption theory, starts from the culture background and writing background they belong to, and then finds out the main course of this discomfiture by analyzing the specific works.
