The Vicissitude Of Intellectuals' Psychological State In Late Qing Dynasty

This thesis, on the base of a series of monographs, tries to widely use the first volumes of journals, letters and biographies etc. With the leader of Marxism and consulting the psychological state of contemporary Japanese intellectuals, it aims at the psychological state of intellectuals in Late Qing Dynasty, and tries to disclose the contrail of intellectuals' psychological state to seek national independence and self-improvement.This thesis thinks studying the subject "The Vicissitude of Intellectuals' Psychological State in Late Qing Dynasty" must regard the research methods in history as original version rather than one single theoretical method. Wherefore, history research can naturally become full-scaled and all-sided.This thesis is divided into 4 chapters except introduction and conclusion.In the first chapter it dissertates the intellectuals' psychological state in Late Qing Dynasty during the time from Opium War to Movement of Foreign Affairs, and analyzes different attitudes between the Chinese intellectuals and Japanese intellectuals after Locking Up for a long time. The change of Japanese intellectuals' psychological state is mainly during Kingship Reform , which is the reference of contemporary Chinese intellectuals.The second chapter discusses the change of intellectuals' psychological state from the Movement of Foreign Affairs to WuXu Reform. Japanese intellectuals revealed the scorn for China and Chinese intellectuals. The intellectuals in Late Qing Dynasty were shocked abruptly. In order to self-improve, they roused, which made the group radicalness very distinct in this period.The third chapter discusses the vicissitude of society culture and intellectuals' mental adaptation. It dissertates the vicissitude of intellectuals' psychological state and the choice of their lives.It first expatiates the relationship between the vicissitude of society culture and intellectuals' mental adaptation. Then it reviews the relationship according to the individual research of Rong Qin> Yan Fu and Weng Tonghe . Next it dissertates the courses of psychological state of students abroad from three aspects.The fourth chapter discusses the relationship between culture and psychological state. From the influence of tradition culture to psychological state of both Chinese and Japanese intellectuals, it analyzes the inertia of traditional culture. And also it expounds relationship between psychological state and foreign culture.Finally it figures out that the intellectuals' psychological state plays an important part in traditional culture. To keep the progress of advanced culture, we should keep the opening, multiplicity and compatibility of the culture, try to keep well-balanced state and promote the evolution of advanced culture.
