Xiao Hong and Eileen Chang, like two brilliant stars, established their remarkablepositions in China modern literature history from the 1930s to 1940s.They leave us greattreasure in literature palace. For female writer, they have trauma of family and loving all.Their similar experience of life made them take different ways of writing as both of femalewriters. They have achieved self-help by means of writing in the men's world. In anotherword, writing became their ways of survival in the world. Facing the theme of time of warand revolution, they formed quite different writing styles under the leading of "father ofspirit" and from the view and role of "maiden". However, their works present an artisticconception of desolation which is full of features of women's writings, and appear differentsenses of strata by the light of "child-woman". Their works commonly reveal the realsurvival and mind of the specific historic time.It offers us a window to view deeply the two female writers thoughts—experience formation,and to discuss their instinct of survival and meanings of writings from female thought bycomparing Eileen Chang and Xiao Hong and commenting on their personality writings,and life background, history and culture.
